Highlighting Spring 2017s Share Your Shutters Winner05/08/2017Nate Gromen Spring is in full swing here in Cleveland, but don’t think we forgot about our regularly scheduled Share Your Shutters contest. Spring’s contest winner is Tonya S., who shared some photos of her home that truly show what shutters can do for a home. Tonya’s home features some stunning new Polywood® plantation shutters in the dining room. Because her shutters are shut, you can really get a look at how well plantation shutters can really help you control light. Imagine that dining room with some softer lighting; it’s almost the perfect setting for a personal candlelit dinner, right? With plantation shutters in your house like Tonya has, you can capture the mood you want no matter what it’s like outside. Take a look at how the white shutters flawlessly match the white trim near the floors and the white ceiling. Those matching neutrals let the black wood furniture and the wood floor’s natural color shine even more. She didn’t stop at just one photo of her shutters, though. Below is another photo she submitted of her new sliding barn door shutter! There’s a few reasons we love this barn door shutter. First off, it looks fantastic. The rustic aesthetic of the wood paneling with that modern black sliding track above give a timeless yet cozy look. What we love even more than the looks is the practicality of the shutter. Her barn door shutter sits on top of the window frame, so it can control the light levels while still allowing the window to operate.Since her shutter sits on the frame, Tonya can still make use of that deep window jamb, too. For instance, if she wanted to set a plant on the sill to get sunlight, she could even close the shutter so it can soak up some rays while still blocking sun glare from outside.According to Tonya this is the third time she’s chosen window treatments from Sunburst Shutters, and we want to thank her for repeatedly choosing us for all her window design needs. For being picked as our Share Your Shutters winner this time, Tonya will receive a $100 gift card to a local restaurant. If you think your shutters should be featured on our next Share Your Shutters contest, we want to see them! Share a photo of your favorite room with shutters using the hashtag #ShareYourShutters, or upload a photo to our Facebook page. We’d love to showcase some shutters from a Clevelander next time!Or if Tonya’s photos make you think your house is missing a little something, we want to help.
